Very revealing read!
This book will help you to discover some of your own misguided ways of thinking. We are all subject to self justification even in the face of evidence to the contrary. Most of the time we don't even realize we are suffering from such cognitive dissonance. We defend our actions and decisions even though they may be wrong just because we don't want to admit we are wrong, and the more we are accused the more we dig in, without even realizing what we are really doing.
The book only gives a little advice on how you might overcome such limitations, but the fact that the book can make you aware of them and that awareness is the main focus of the book, makes it a five star read.
I can see how some people might feel it has a slight liberal bent, but this is very slight. What I find very amusing is the people trashing the book for being biased and liberal suffer from the same cognitive dissonance the book discusses! How ironic!
