Great cookbook!
I recently purchased 'Turn up the Heat with G. Garvin,' and was amazed by all of the delectable offerings in his cookbook. For SuperBowl weekend, I prepared the collard greens and au gratin potatoes, and they were both awesome! I had never prepared greens before using olive oil, turkey bacon, garlic, shallots, and white wine, but the combination was fabulous! A healthy twist on a longstanding soul food favorite! Even my 6-year old (who is normally a picky eater) liked the greens, which was surprising. The 3 types of cheese used for the potatoes were yummy for the palate. I will definitely try more recipes in the near future. I consider this cookbook a great buy!
